A day after the death of a 17-year-old Palm Beach boy, The Palm Beach Gazette and Palm Beach Times reported the arrest of the suspect in the case.
The newspaper reported that police arrested David Haney after he was taken into custody by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and is being charged with murder.
Police said Haney, who is the nephew of a man arrested in the slayings, was in a “good mental condition” when he was arrested.
Police did not elaborate on the condition of Haney.
The Palm Beachers newspaper and Palm Beaches newspaper, both owned by the same parent, were not immediately available for comment on Friday.
Haney was charged with one count of first-degree murder and one count each of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, attempted first-time offender, aggravated assault, kidnapping, aggravated robbery and burglary, according to a news release from the Palm Beances newspaper.
Police were still investigating the case on Saturday.
The police department did not immediately return a message seeking comment.
