New Orleans Saints wide receiver Brandin Cooks says the Minnesota Vikings will be “tough” to beat when they face off against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.
Cooks is the No. 2 player on ESPN’s weekly poll, ahead of New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, but he is the first player to top 50% in both categories.
Cooks is also the first wide receiver to top 30% in the poll since wideout Calvin Johnson was the first since 2002.
Cook also topped 50% of ESPN’s player rankings, making him the second player this season to do so, joining Golden Tate of the Green Bay Packers.
Cook’s win streak is the longest since 2011, when he led the league in receiving yards.
He has 1,943 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns since being drafted.
Cook has a league-leading four receiving touchdowns this season, which is tied for second most in the league.
He also has seven games with at least two receiving touchdowns.
He leads the NFL in targets (62), receiving yards (1,944), touchdowns (eight) and receptions (59).
The first week of the NFL season is underway in Week 10, with the season opener against the Green-Bay Packers on Sept. 7.
The following week, the Los Angeles Rams host the Denver Broncos in Week 11.
